To build the youth with the mind and spirit to serve the society and work for the social movement.<\/p>

Mission:<\/strong><\/p>

The NSS has been functioning with the motto \u201cNOT ME BUT YOU\u201d in view of making the youth inspired in service of the people and hence NSS Aims Education through Community Service and Community Service through Education.<\/p>

Aims and Objectives of National Service Scheme:<\/strong><\/p>

To identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process.<\/p>

To develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility.<\/p>

To develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities.<\/p>

To acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.<\/p>

To gain skills in mobilizing community participation.<\/p>

To develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters.<\/p>

To understand the community in which they work.<\/p>

To utilize their knowledge in finding practical solution to individual and community problems.<\/p>

To practice national integration and social harmony.<\/p>

To understand themselves in relation to their community.<\/p>

Moto of NSS:<\/strong><\/p>

The NSS motto \u201cNot Me but You” represents the spirit of democratic living and emphasizes the need for selfless service. NSS teaches students to appreciate other people\u2019s points of view and to be considerate to other beings. The ideology of the NSS is perfectly exemplified in this slogan, which emphasizes on the concept that everyone\u2019s welfare is highly reliant on the welfare of\u00a0society<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The NSS symbol is based on the \u201cRath\u201d wheel of the Konark Sun Temple situated in Odisha. The navy blue colour indicates the cosmos of which the NSS is a tiny part, ready to contribute its share for the welfare of the mankind. The Red colour in the badge indicates that the NSS volunteers are full of blood i.e. lively, active, energetic and full of high spirit. The giant wheels of the Sun Temple portray the cycle of creation, preservation and release, and signify the movement in life across time and space.<\/p>

Enrolment in National Service scheme:<\/strong><\/p>

NSS is a voluntary scheme. NSS scheme starts from 11th Standard onwards. At college level the NSS volunteers will be enrolled from the first, second and third year degree-class students. The students from foreign countries studying in Indian universities can also join NSS so that they may share the experiences of national reconstruction and community work. NCC cadets will not be allowed to join NSS. Similarly NSS volunteers will not participate in NCC or any other youth organisation as long as they are in NSS.<\/p>

An NSS volunteer needs to devote a total of\u00a0240\u00a0hours social service in two years duration. Every year, a NSS volunteer must devote 20 hrs. of orientation and 100 hrs of community service<\/p>

To enrol as NSS volunteer, contact the NSS Programme Officer of our college. The NSS volunteers on successful completion of the required hours of service are issued a certificate. NSS volunteers can get some weightage during admissions in higher studies and other benefits as decided by the institutions\/university.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
